At Camp “Leader", we pride ourselves on providing a summer experience that our campers will never forget. The quality of our program is second to none and each of our campers receives personalized attention from experienced instructors, counselors, and activity specialists. In everything we do, we emphasize having fun, building self-confidence, and developing friendships through teamwork…that’s what camp is all about!

The summer of 2023 is going to be the 19th season at Camp “Leader". Many families have recommended Camp "Leader" to their friends and relatives as the camp's popularity grows among the kids and parents.

At present, Leader NY Camp LLC is the owner and operator of the Camp "Leader". Educational programs in the camp are implemented in partnership with the non-profit organizations LID Foundation Inc. and Leader NY Foundation Corp.

Camp "Leader" was founded in 2004 by a group of enthusiastic educators with a mission to provide children with an opportunity to enjoy their summer vacation in the Upstate New York mountainside, exercise a healthy lifestyle, and learn the Russian and Ukrainian languages as well. After the very first season, the camp received a great deal of positive feedback from both children and parents. The camp has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the last five years, and the number of families adhering to our educational approach and joining the "Leader" family has greatly increased.

In the summer of 2008, Camp "Leader" established its permanent location on a beautiful Upstate NY area surrounded by scenic mountains. Camp "Leader" acquired a newly constructed modern swimming pool, comfortable sleeping quarters for 4 to 10 people, athletic fields, stage, and the movie theater. The facility is about 2 hours to drive from New York City.

Every child here gets to pick some preferential activities. Camp "Leader" offers classes in martial arts, ping-pong/tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. There are also a drama studio, modern dancing classes, and special studies in painting and crafts. Kids are facing some "serious" outdoor challenges whole boating on Delaver River (trips are supervised by experienced kayaks and canoes instructors). Children would learn on-hand how to set up a tent, start a fire in the wilderness, and catch a fish using the "secret" skills. Camp "Leader" also offers horseback riding classes provided by Bridle Hill Farm professionals (see "Summer fun! - Horseback Riding School").

Educational Russian language and Ukrainian language summer programs has been implemented by Camp "Leader" since the very beginning. Employing a modern computer and video technology, children are learning the Russian language, Ukrainian language and art in a truly entertaining way.

In so many words, the true mission of Camp “Leader" is to make a summer vacation smart, engaging, enriching, and adventurous. We believe that children should not only have a great time off but also find new friends and get memories of a lifetime!
